Where has that gotten us?

I just watched The Grapes of Wrath again a few weeks ago. First time since waking up to what's been going on. I always thought that camp they found refuge in was a good thing. The one set up by the Department of Agriculture. This time it occurred to me what it was really about. Getting the people conditioned to being dependent on the nanny state to come to their rescue. 

Where has that gotten us?

Welfare STATE with millions of dependents who's mother and father are the STATE itself. Millions of dependents who are bound by adhesion contract and their own consent to do as they are told by their corporate parents.
